Saint Mary's City - August 2009

On the last Saturday of August, we drove out to Saint Mary's City in Maryland despite the ominous weather forecast. It turned out to be a sunny, hot and humid day and I wished I brought my sunglasses along. My 1L bottle of water didn't last past late morning. Saint Mary's City is a small historic area with actors in costume. Although small, we didn't have time to hit all the sites. We did go aboard the Maryland Dove for the cannon signaling demonstration, catch the end of a mock trial at the State House and tour the Godiah Spray Tobacco Plantation. We also started the day touring the grounds of the Brome-Howard Inn.
