St. Lucia - July 2010
We took a short five day vacation in St. Lucia at the all-inclusive resort, the Almond at Smugglers' Cove. This resort has some scary reviews on TripAdvisor, but it turned out to be just fine. We found the wait staff to be very friendly and attentive. We took advantage of about half of the resort's water activities: snorkeling, kayaking, and a sailing lesson on a small catamaran. We also arranged a boat tour of the western side of the island where we did more snorkeling at Anse Cochon and Anse Castanet.
All photos from this trip were taken with a Canon D10, a waterproof point and shoot camera. It went from the pool to the sea and back without breaking a sweat. I was pretty happy with its performance, but wish it offered a bit more control. However, after recently getting a lens serviced for what was probably too much time around sand and salt air, it was liberating not to worry about the camera!
