Tokyo - November 2009

We arrived in Tokyo from Beijing in the evening. Although this was our first trip to Japan, we only spent two evenings and a morning in Tokyo. We decided to devote most of our visit to Kyoto.

Most of our hotels had bathroom modules made by Toto. Notice the bidet controls below the sink.

Our very, unspacious, first hotel in Tokyo in the Ikebukuro district. We left for Kyoto the next morning.

At this restaurant, you place your order and pay your money at the machine and then give the ticket to a server. It only took us about 15 minutes to figure out why no one came to our table to take our order.

This is a shot from the Sony Building. They had a camera demonstrating face detection technology. The camera actually follows you and periodically snaps pictures.
