Yosemite and Mono Lake - August 2010

Images from a last minute trip to Yosemite, Bodie, and Mono Lake.

We spent three days based in the valley of Yosemite National Park. On day 1, we hiked the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls and saw the Mirror Lake. On day 2, we drove along Tioga Pass Road and made many stops to admire the views. We also visited Bodie State Park and Mono Lake. On day 3, we took a look at the Ansel Adams Gallery, saw the trickle from Yosemite Falls, and had lunch at the Ahwahnee Hotel before heading off to San Francisco to catch a flight the following morning.

  • This is Bodie State Historic Park. Bodie is a ghost town not far north from Mono Lake. It used to be a gold mining town. We stayed for about an hour. It was very cold and it started raining during our brief visit.
